An older woman named Doris Finch waits for her son to pick her up for their weekend shopping spree. When her son Brian picks her up something is not quite right he is driving a different car and looks like a rugged mess. Doris starts asking questions about what happened to his car and where exactly are they going. The car finally comes to a halt then Doris is ushered into a dark basement in a bad part of town and then tied up to a chair! She realizes this isn’t Brian but his bad seed twin Brother Nicholas. He wants revenge for being ignored as a child and is willing to kill for it!

Perishables
In this dark tale about a man named Placido Sanchez sits in a dark windowless basement trying to survive a nuclear bomb attack. He lost his two children and beloved wife Julia in the blast and now lives his life alone in a basement slowly running out of food. When Julia died from a broken neck Placido put her body in a freezer for when the time comes he may need something to eat when his food supply runs out. His once lovely and now dead wife may possibly still be able to provide her husband with one last meal…..if you catch my drift.

Damp Wind and Leaves
A young seventeen year old guy named Jeff wished he was younger because Halloween just isn’t as fun when you get older.  Being a good sport he dresses in a Dracula costume for the party his parents are throwing this Halloween night. With all the kids around he remembers how fun this holiday once was until he meets a pretty girl with brown eyes and he may just like being seventeen after all.

Russian Roulette
With a love triangle between Charlie-Heather-Brad that has gone wrong the only way to make things right is a game of Russian Roulette .This is a game of luck and only one will walk away alive. Who will the fates bless?

3.5/5 Screams in the Backseat

White Blanket is a book of short stories that are super creepy and bizarre. You have a psycho son who uses his twin brothers image to kidnap his mother and a man who needs to eat his wife dead body in order to survive a nuclear attack. These are definitely horrific stories with extreme circumstances and characters showing just how scary human nature can be. Some stories were absolutely disturbing and others kinda were just okay but over all I think White Blanket is a good book to achieve that spooky feel especially for Halloween.
